Physiotherapy Tech
Job Description
The Physiotherapy Tech will support physiotherapists in delivering therapeutic care to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or managing chronic conditions. This role includes preparing treatment areas, guiding patients through exercises, and ensuring the proper use of equipment. The Physiotherapy Tech will also assist in administering modalities such as ultrasound, TENS, and heat/cold therapy under the direction of a physiotherapist. Additionally, the role involves maintaining and organizing physiotherapy equipment, documenting patient progress, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for therapy sessions. The Physiotherapy Tech will play a key role in supporting the physiotherapy team and ensuring that patients receive effective and timely care.
Job Requirements
A diploma or certification in physiotherapy assistance or a related field.
Experience assisting physiotherapists with patient care, including setting up and monitoring treatment sessions.
Proficient in guiding patients through prescribed exercises and ensuring proper technique.
Ability to maintain and prepare physiotherapy equipment and treatment areas.
Familiarity with therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, TENS, and heat/cold applications.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple patients and schedules.
Ability to record patient progress and report findings to supervising physiotherapists.
Experience in patient education, particularly in reinforcing therapy instructions and home exercise programs.
Ability to work effectively as part of a physiotherapy team, providing support where needed.
