Occupational Therapist

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist will help patients develop, recover, and maintain daily living and work skills through tailored therapeutic interventions. This role involves assessing patients’ needs, designing individualized treatment plans, and utilizing adaptive equipment and techniques to enhance their ability to perform everyday tasks. The Occupational Therapist will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from injuries, those with developmental disabilities, and the elderly. The role includes conducting home and workplace assessments, recommending environmental modifications, and providing training to patients and caregivers. The Occupational Therapist will also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care, with the goal of improving overall quality of life.

Job Requirements

A valid Occupational Therapist license.

Experience in assessing and treating patients with physical, cognitive, or developmental disabilities.

Proficient in creating individualized treatment plans focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs).

Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology, with the ability to train patients in their use.

Experience in hand therapy, ergonomics, or pediatric occupational therapy.

Strong ability to conduct home and workplace assessments and recommend modifications.

Familiarity with sensory integration therapy and cognitive-behavioral approaches.

Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.

Excellent documentation skills, including experience with electronic health records.

Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients and caregivers effectively.
