Speech Therapist

Job Description

The Speech Therapist will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, and swallowing disorders, helping them improve communication and swallowing function. This role involves developing personalized treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and using various techniques and tools to address specific speech and language issues. The Speech Therapist will work with clients across all age groups, from children with developmental delays to adults recovering from strokes or brain injuries. The role also includes educating clients and their families on strategies to support communication at home and in daily life, as well as collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. The Speech Therapist will be committed to helping clients achieve their communication goals and improve their quality of life.

Job Requirements

A valid Speech Therapist license.

Experience in assessing and treating a range of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Proficient in developing individualized treatment plans based on thorough assessments.

Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, including articulation therapy, voice therapy, and language intervention.

Experience working with diverse populations, including children with speech delays, adults with aphasia, and individuals with cognitive-communication disorders.

Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and techniques.

Ability to conduct dysphagia assessments and implement swallowing therapy protocols.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Excellent documentation skills, including maintaining detailed records of therapy sessions and progress.
