Dental Hygienist
Job Description
The Dental Hygienist will provide preventive dental care, educate patients on oral hygiene, and assist the dental team in delivering comprehensive care. This role includes performing teeth cleanings, scaling, root planing, and applying preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants. The Dental Hygienist will also take and interpret dental X-rays, identify oral health issues, and educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and nutrition practices to maintain oral health. The role involves working closely with dentists to assess patient needs, develop treatment plans, and ensure a high standard of infection control. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in preventing dental diseases and promoting overall oral health.
Job Requirements
A valid Dental Hygienist license.
Experience in performing dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing.
Proficient in taking and interpreting dental X-rays.
Strong knowledge of periodontal disease prevention and treatment.
Ability to educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition.
Familiarity with dental charting, electronic health records, and dental software.
Experience in applying fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive measures.
Ability to identify oral health issues and communicate them to the dentist for further evaluation.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
Commitment to maintaining a high standard of infection control and patient safety.
