Special Education Teacher

Job Description

The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their academic and personal potential. This role includes developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's abilities and challenges. The Special Education Teacher will use a variety of teaching methods and tools to engage students and adapt lessons to meet their individual learning styles. The role also involves working closely with parents, therapists, and other educators to create a supportive learning environment, conducting regular assessments to monitor progress, and modifying instruction as needed. The Special Education Teacher will be an advocate for students, ensuring they receive the resources and support they need to succeed.

Job Requirements

A valid teaching certification with a specialization in special education.

Experience working with children with various disabilities, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.

Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.

Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.

Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

Experience in conducting assessments to identify students’ educational needs and progress.

Familiarity with assistive technology and its application in the classroom.

Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work with parents, therapists, and other educators.

Excellent documentation skills, including maintaining detailed records of student progress.

Patience, creativity, and a passion for supporting students with special needs.
